At first I was a little worried about the side flap that overlaps the bottom of the door frame, I was concerned that it would wear on the bottom of the door map holder but it looks like that part of the mat has settled down and is now flat. I think without this extension, dirt would work it's way down to the carpet.
They took care to cut out around the trunk release, and the hole for the hook in the floor.
NO plastic/rubber smell which in a passenger vehicle can be really annoying.
