(More customer reviews)If you are shopping here for floor mats, it may be because you found that the current product offered by Toyota (probably as a result of the trapped gas pedal issue?) is pretty poor. It is thin, with a foam backing. They no longer offer the traditional heavy duty carpeted mat systems.
Avery's Floor Mats (fulfilled thru Custom Fit Auto Accessories) is a great alternative to OEM. They offer several grades of carpeting with trim options and colors, and a variety of form factors. While the factory offering is a collection of 6 pieces, with Avery you can get attached sections providing greater coverage, down to as few as 3 large mats. I bought the 3 piece "Touring" grade (22oz carpet - thicker than OEM and quite plush) for $160 delivered. Set #AV1838-24-78. The `aisle' pieces are attached, making two "T" shaped mats. We'll probably never slide our middle seat sideways, so this works great for us.
With minor exception, they fit quite well. I think the front mat could have been a touch wider to extend door sill to door sill, as it doesn't quite reach. The other mats look and fit great. We intentionally went with a darker color grey (OEM `Stone' interior is very light), and the contrast is striking.
My only gripe surrounds the lack of retainer grommets up front. Avery reportedly puts them on individual drivers mats, but not on joined front strips. My wife can move even the one piece variety, so I sent my front mat back to them requesting that left and center grommets matching the stock floor holes be added. Custom Fit Auto went to bat for me to get this done, and I very much appreciate their intervention. See if you can indicate this on the order up front, if affixing them in place is a concern to you.
